After beating Bangladesh by five wickets in Group 2 of the ICC T-20 World Cup on Sunday, Pakistan advanced to the semifinals. Bangladesh set Pakistan a target of 128 runs to advance to the semifinals at the Adelaide Oval Cricket Ground after winning the toss and choosing to bat.

Iftikhar Ahmed similarly claimed one wicket for 15 runs in three overs. After losing to the Netherlands on Sunday by a score of 13 runs, South Africa was abruptly eliminated from the group stage.
